About
Hi there, my name is Maria and I offer private music lessons on a variety of instruments including the violin, viola, ukulele, and trumpet. My lessons are available both in-person and online for your convenience.I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from UMass Lowell, as well as a Master's degree from The Boston Conservatory. At present, I am furthering my studies in the field of Ethnomusicology with a PhD from the University of Washington. Apart from being a licensed music teacher for PreK-12, I have also taught Music Theory and Ear Training as a faculty member at The Boston Conservatory, and currently teach a class on American Pop Song at the UW.
I believe in tailoring my instruction to each individual student and helping them achieve their unique musical goals. I have a growth mindset and strive to create a positive and nurturing environment for all. And importantly, I am fully vaccinated (with booster) against COVID-19, ensuring your safety during in-person lessons.

Maria has been teaching my two children for several years now. Under her guidance, they have made remarkable progress with their instruments and have gained a substantial amount of knowledge in music theory. Maria's patience, encouragement, and ability to incorporate their preferred music choices have kept the kids engaged and enthusiastic about their lessons. They absolutely adore Maria and often rave about how she is the best music teacher they have ever had!

For over a year, Maria has been an exceptional music teacher to my daughter. Despite all our lessons being conducted virtually, my daughter has been able to truly connect with her instrument and flourish as a musician. Maria's remarkable organizational skills and vast knowledge, coupled with her availability, have made her an outstanding instructor. My daughter adores her and is always eager and enthusiastic for their lessons.
