About
La Meri once said that mastering technique only serves to ensure that the body does not impede the expression of the soul. As someone who has played the violin for 20 years, I find great joy in passing on my knowledge and experience to my students. I am here to support you in achieving your objectives, whether you want to learn a new skill for fun or work diligently towards a performance or audition. Creating a secure and engaging learning environment to enable my students to thrive is of utmost importance to me. I would be thrilled to teach you or your child!

Distinctive qualities:
~I have obtained degrees from renowned music institutions and have worked with violin teachers regarded as some of the best in the nation. I hold dual master’s degrees in violin performance and chamber music from the University of Michigan under Danielle Belen, a former teaching assistant to Robert Lipsett and recipient of the 2008 Sphinx Competition. I also earned my bachelor’s degree in violin performance from Oberlin Conservatory under David Bowlin, a founding member of the International Contemporary Ensemble and winner of the 2003 Washington International Competition.
~Although my background is classical, I possess the ability to perform other genres such as pop music.
~My teaching approach is holistic and well-rounded as I have studied topics such as brain science and learning, physical wellness for musicians, string pedagogy (including the Suzuki approach), Baroque violin, and fiddle music and improvisation.
~I encourage my students to submit recordings between lessons at no additional cost to maintain their motivation and drive.

I am available to teach you online from anywhere in the world. If you live in the Washington DC area, I am happy to teach you in person! I am situated in Logan Circle (postcode 20005), or I may be able to travel to your place for an extra fee.

I look forward to hearing from you!

With her immense passion for playing and teaching, Christine is an incredibly gifted violinist. She exudes kindness and provides immense motivation for her students. Christine's teaching goes beyond the norm and she persistently tries to come up with innovative approaches to help her students excel. Under her tutelage, I have improved significantly and even had the honor of playing alongside her. Undoubtedly, Christine is the finest teacher out there!

If you are in search of a violin teacher, I strongly suggest Christine. Not only is she an extraordinarily gifted musician, but she is also an exceptional instructor. My five-year-old daughter is a beginner violin student, and Christine manages to deliver lessons that are not only engaging but leave her demanding more and more frequent classes. Christine gathered feedback from my daughter about her interests and modified her instruction to cater to her requirements. We are fortunate to have Christine as a teacher and would highly commend her.

After conducting extensive research on musicians to hire for my brother's funeral, I came across Christine who was able to accommodate my request in a remarkably short time. Not only was Christine reasonable with her pricing, but she also exuded immense talent and professionalism. Online reviews only hinted at how amazing she truly was. Throughout the process, Christine remained friendly, understanding, and genuine. Her responsiveness was unparalleled, and she arrived ahead of time on the day of the service. Her musical piece accurately captured our emotions and pain. Although I regret not having a recording of it, I am immensely grateful to her for playing such a pivotal role in this life-changing day.
