About
Each student has unique needs upon arrival. Some may require elementary guidance such as grasping how to hold drumsticks or mastering fundamental movements around the drum kit. Others may require more advanced tutelage such as understanding polyrhythms or comprehending their role within an ensemble. Personally, I cherish guiding students at all levels towards enlightenment.As an instructor, witnessing a student's sudden realization of progress is the ultimate gratification. I have been fortunate to have exceptional teachers throughout my own musical expedition and now feel obligated to pass down the knowledge that has been bestowed upon me. It's the final piece of the puzzle in my own musical journey.

With an incredible passion for his craft, John is an outstanding teacher. Despite my lack of experience with instruments and music knowledge, John has been committed to helping me build a strong foundation. Through his comprehensive teaching methods, he has guided me through learning drum rudiments and reading music. He provides exercises to practice in between lessons and even shares videos of the exercises on Dropbox for easy reference. The lessons are enjoyable and time flies by as I continue to learn and improve rapidly. I strongly recommend John as a teacher to anyone seeking to delve into the world of music.

In short, Yoda would be a more fitting name for John. I stumbled upon John four years ago and have been taking weekly lessons with him ever since. Not only is John an exceptional musician, but he is also a wonderful mentor and friend. Under his guidance, I have learned to create music instead of just producing noise. Countless times, John has gone above and beyond to help me enhance my drumming skills. He truly has a gift for teaching and is passionate about it.
