Greetings,
I am Michael Carlson, a CSIA certified technician for Mike's Clean Sweeps. Our services cover chimney and dryer vent cleaning, and we're reaching out to you to meet your needs.
We understand that during this season, people look for affordable cleaning services to ensure safety while having fires around the holidays. We offer routine cleaning without inspection for $300, and we guarantee to remove carcinogenic and flammable creosote from your home. We take precautions, such as wearing masks and booties, and laying clean tarps from your threshold to your hearth, to protect your home. Also, we have a clean record with the California State License Board, carrying liability and worker's compensation. We also use rotary cleaning for the dirtiest chimneys, and you don't have to worry about rods becoming unscrewed or lost in your chimney, as we use state-of-the-art equipment. This is the Mike's Clean Sweeps difference!
WAIT A MINUTE!
Have you ever thought about checking the condition of the internal components you can't see in your fireplace? Did you know that the failure of these components, whether a disconnected prefab pipe or cracked and missing flue tiles for a masonry chimney, can lead to structure fires?
The surge of cleaning requests puts us certified technicians in an ethical dilemma. Our training involves evaluating evidence to determine whether or not a fireplace is fit for use. For instance, we might be called for cleaning and find that the vents in front of a prefab have been covered over by remodeling work, putting the fireplace at risk of potential hazards. However, for many people on a budget, an inspection seems unnecessary, even if it might render their fireplace unsafe. Many falsely assume that a simple cleaning would be sufficient to ensure safety without consulting specialized equipment, which is why a Level 2 Chimney Inspection is required with each transfer of property, as per the National Fire Protection Code.
WAIT A SECOND!
"Why didn't my realtor check my fireplace before we moved in?" That's because there are few properly trained and certified technicians in this region. So with no one capable of performing a true Level 2 inspection, many settle for just cleaning or nothing at all. Sadly, potentially hazardous defaults go unexamined, and necessary repairs that could affect the sale of the building often get ignored.
Why perform a camera scan of the chimney flue?
Over time, terracotta tiles line internally, which crack and fall in due to temperature changes and water entry. This can cause obstructions and expose nearby combustibles to high temperatures. Thus, a chimney scan ascertains whether the flue is free of defects to avoid hazardous situations. For prefabricated or factory-built systems, we assess for burst seams, warping where the pipe sections meet, and improper installation methods, among other things.
Don't settle for a company that doesn't care enough about their trade and fails to maintain their employees' credentials. Visit the Chimney Safety Institute of America online to learn more about the importance of certification. Consider it an investment in your safety and the protection of your home because nobody should have a false sense of security when dealing with fire.
Thank you for your attention, and we look forward to serving you for your next project.
Sincerely,
Michael Carlson
