Owned and operated by Matthew Simonis, Y2A Media is a video production agency located in Ypsilanti, MI. Our mission is to provide exceptional video content that is within reach for small businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, and musicians. We pride ourselves on tailoring each project to our client's specific needs while emphasizing the importance of telling their story authentically.

Our philosophy is rooted in Ancient Greek teachings, as posited by Aristotle: "To become an able man in any profession, there are three things necessary -- nature, study, and practice." In 2015, our owner Matthew graduated with a BFA in Film, Video, and New Genres from the Peck School of the Arts at UW-Milwaukee. Since then, he has produced and shot numerous TV shows for local markets in Wisconsin and Michigan and worked on several short films that have been screened across the country.

Matthew is passionate about the relationship between visual imagery and storytelling. He believes in considering every small detail to create a visually striking story. This approach doesn't always mean using the most advanced technology available, but instead, creating an intentional thread that weaves each shot into the greater narrative. Aristotle's words still ring true: "As for the story, whether the poet takes it ready-made or constructs it for himself, he should first sketch its general outline, and then fill in the episodes and amplify in detail."
