I contracted Scott to rectify the errors made by another contractor that built my 7-month-old composite decks. His pricing was reasonable, and he arrived punctually every day. He identified the cause of the sagging that occurred on the first hot day and explained in detail how he would fix the issue. Scott planned to install joists every 16" to both decks after lifting up the decking. Monterrozo Construction should have initially carried out this task, but they subsequently lied by blaming me for rejecting the idea. They could not, however, explain why they had installed joists and cement posts on one of the decks at my expense, which were not placed correctly to prevent the sagging. Monterrozo used untreated Douglas Fir wood for support beams, although my contract stated that they should use treated wood. Scott, however, used pressure-treated wood and showed me where Monterrozo had merely stained untreated wood covered by the decking. Scott fixed several other sloppy or missed tasks without any additional charges. He worked on the site every day with his partner, and they were both available to address any concerns or questions I had. I highly recommend Custom Creations to my friends, and I regret not hiring Scott initially. I advise staying away from Monterrozo.
