Greetings! I graduated from the esteemed Yale School of Music, New England Conservatory, and the University of Southern California. I possess 9 years of teaching experience as a music minor/non-major violin instructor, in addition to being a chamber music and ensemble coach at Yale University and the University of Southern California. Furthermore, I have served as a teaching artist at Porterville Summer Strings for two consecutive summer seasons, providing individualized instruction and facilitating violin sectionals. In September 2020, I will be teaching at the German-Polish Festival for Young Musicians Online.
As an instructor, I empower my pupils to discover their unique path within music, build their own perspectives, and eventually become self-sufficient. My teaching methodology emphasizes the establishment of a sound technical foundation, tailored to the needs of each individual. This includes harmonizing physical relaxation and cultivating a peaceful demeanor during practice. It is crucial to remember, however, that technique should never overshadow the artistry of music.
I am proficient in a wide range of classical repertoire, etudes, scale systems, and musical exercises. Furthermore, I frequently compose one-of-a-kind etudes and musical pieces for my students, personalized to their individual needs and interests. I embrace a diverse array of musical genres reflective of student preference, including pop, film music, anime music, Jazz standards, and beyond.
My studio environment fosters a supportive atmosphere for students, where they are encouraged to attend optional group sessions, such as studio class and group discussion class. Studio class allows students to perform in front of their peers and receive constructive feedback while engaging in constructive discussions. I facilitate studio class and provide guidance. Group discussion classes are reserved for addressing any violin or music-related inquiries that students may have, where we navigate each topic as one. We may also enjoy unique performances in group discussion class.
