I would not recommend hiring the individual to construct stairs. I did, however, hire them to build a new set of exterior steps. An employee was sent to complete the task, but upon inspecting the stair stringers, I noticed that the height of the steps were inconsistent with a few measuring 10 inches high and some measuring 8 inches high. This was due to the miscalculation of the appropriate rise and run for the stair stringers, as the space for the stairs was not measured properly. The previous steps that were demolished had each been around 8.5 inches high. Consequently, I had to halt the work and will need to seek the services of someone else to complete the job correctly. I must acknowledge that I gave the owner additional stars because of their prompt response throughout the entire process and their empathy towards my dissatisfaction with the work.
