About
To start, I'd like to mention that I'm a versatile artist who works with diverse mediums. Everything I engage in becomes my canvas, and as a perfectionist, my harshest critic is myself! To be honest, I don't think that most designers have an innovative approach to their work. They tend to follow a fixed process instead. On the other hand, I value providing my clients with precisely what they are searching for. Keeping them involved in the creative process is important to me as it ensures their satisfaction and engagement.

What I love about my job may sound amusing, but I genuinely enjoy working with wood. It's fascinating to discover the hidden patterns and colors underneath layers of paint or stain.

Meeting Cynthia was meant to be. I needed a furniture refinisher on the Peninsula, so I turned to Thumbtack to find bids for my project of stripping a chest of drawers and two night stands down to bare wood and applying clear coat. Cynthia's offer stood out from the rest – not only did she offer the best price, but she also showed the most enthusiasm. When she and her husband came to pick up the pieces, we had a delightful conversation, and I felt great about my choice. However, the next day, they reached out saying that the wood wasn't what they thought it would be, and that painting it would be a better option. This is when I remembered that Cynthia talked about decorating pieces in the style of Mackenzie-Child's during our first chat. We put our heads together and created a whimsical design using my color palette, resulting in an incredible project that exceeded my expectations. Cynthia and Tony were amazing to work with, with the highest integrity and artistic talent. They created stunning pieces that were affordable and worked within my budget. I'm thrilled with the results, and I can't wait to work with them again on my next project.

My entire set of wrought iron furniture, comprising of chairs, love seat and a side table, have been refurbished and painted by Cynthia. Together with her husband Tony, they have done an excellent job, taking their time and ensuring that their work is meticulous. My furniture now looks amazing in my backyard and has regained its shine, as opposed to its previous dull and rusty state. I will definitely utilize their services again for future projects.

With a willing smile, Cynthia was prompt in answering all my questions, addressing my ideas and concerns. She made a remarkable transformation of my 30-year old oak table and its accompanying six chairs, by refinishing and reupholstering them, using the remaining fabric to create a matching table runner. She accomplished the task uncomplainingly!

UPDATED TEXT: I am thrilled to share an update on Project #2! After seeing the amazing results of Cynthia's first project for me, I trusted her with an antique desk and mini-chair that belonged to my late grandmother. To say that I am pleased with the outcome is an understatement. The desk has become a breathtaking piece and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a dedicated artist like Cynthia. Unfortunately, the pictures cannot do justice to the beauty of this restored furniture. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I requested Cynthia to restore a very old furniture piece that my grandfather had built many years ago. I had tried to strip it before, but the varnish used back then was too difficult to manage, so I had given up. When Cynthia returned the piece to me, I was stunned. The furniture now looks gorgeous, and it has revealed an extraordinary 'Bird's Eye Maple' that was invisible under the old stain. I am sharing the before-and-after photos to show how much of a transformation it underwent.
