About
Hello there! I’m Johnny and I’ve been imparting music lessons for a decade now. I’m well-versed in playing a variety of instruments, including drums, guitar, keys, and vocals. I’ve also provided guidance for those interested in learning bass and ukulele. Growing up in a family that cherished music, it has become an inseparable part of my life, and I take great pleasure in sharing my extensive knowledge with students and aiding them on their musical journey. I have nine years of experience teaching at School of Rock Charlotte, in addition to over 15 years of performing with notable musicians in Charlotte. I am qualified to teach various music genres on drums, guitar, and keys, in addition to music theory and songwriting. Furthermore, I am open to freelance drumming and solo acoustic performances. Learning how to drum from Johnny has been a delightful experience. Right from the outset, he gave me invaluable advice on selecting a drum set and allowed me to have a trial lesson before committing to the course, which was a crucial factor for me. He explained the structure of the course, set my expectations, and discussed the course material with me, enabling me to grasp what I could expect from the course. Working with him has been immensely satisfying, as he is always willing to reschedule our classes whenever obstacles arise and ensures that I am comfortable with each new segment of the curriculum. Playing drums is something I've always wanted to do, but my doubts about my abilities held me back. Finally, six months ago, I decided to take the plunge and give it a try. Four months in, I realized that in order to progress at the pace I wanted to, I needed some lessons. That's when I stumbled upon Johnny's CrackerJack program. Despite my initial hesitations about virtual lessons with a stranger, I decided to give him a chance. Now, after two months of lessons with Johnny, I can confidently say that he is the instructor I was looking for. He's patient, punctual, knowledgeable, professional, and relatable in his teaching methods, while still keeping the experience fun. I am so grateful to have found Johnny and highly recommend him without any hesitation.

If it were possible, we would give Johnny more than five stars! He has proven to be an exceptional and knowledgeable teacher who has a deep passion and admiration for music, which makes his lessons all the more unique. My best friend and I are receiving lessons from him one after the other, and Johnny has been extremely accommodating with our schedules. Not only do we admire his hard work to make learning both simple and enjoyable, but we have also surpassed our initial expectations with unimaginable growth within two months under his guidance. Johnny demonstrates dedication, professionalism and a fun teaching style. Despite being online, my son finds the lessons easy to comprehend and Johnny pays keen attention to detail.
