Couse Saxophone Lessons

As a teacher, my primary focus is to demonstrate to my students the various possibilities that they can achieve as musicians and guide them on how to attain those objectives. Each of my students has a distinct objective concerning their musical aspirations, ranging from impressing friends with a few numbers to unleashing ear-splitting solos with a rock band or creating soulful improvisations within a jazz ensemble. My role is to help them identify their targets and develop a plan to achieve them.

I have been playing the saxophone since my third-grade and hold degrees in Music Education and Jazz Studies from the University of Maryland. I have taught both high school and elementary school bands, and for ten years, I have been performing jazz music with various bands. Additionally, I am one of the founding members of the Pop/Funk group Strutman Lane, where I arrange saxophone solos and sections.

My background in education and performance endows me with the essential teaching methodology and the expertise needed to be a professional musician. My students can expect to learn from a passionate performer who understands how to inform and inspire in equal measure.
