About
Hello there! I teach piano and composition part-time through private sessions, and work full-time as a Development Manager for a human services agency in Greater Boston. I earned a Masters degree in Piano Performance from Webster University in St. Louis, and also have a Masters in Social Work from BC. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active by running, hiking, biking, and spending time outdoors.During my piano lessons, I prioritize fundamental techniques such as scales and follow a progressive lesson plan. However, I also tailor my approach to my students' interests to make each session enjoyable. This means allowing students to learn and practice any pieces or songs they desire. My experience primarily lies in classical styles, but I am also proficient in teaching beginner jazz and improvisation.
I charge between $35 and $45 per lesson depending on the duration and location, and I will always travel to your place. Feel free to contact me if you're interested in lessons.
Best regards,
Mike R

Michael came over to give my 12-year-old son his first piano lesson. Although my son was a bit nervous, Michael put him at ease, and they had a fantastic session. Michael's kind and gentle approach encouraged my son's interest in music and the piano. My son is excited to work with Michael again, and I'm delighted to have him as our piano teacher. It's a perfect match!

Mike is much loved by us! He is kind, relaxed, yet very focused. In just a short span of a few months, our son has picked up so much, and thoroughly enjoys playing under his guidance!
