About
Prior to delving into my beliefs as an artist and educator, I want to make it clear that I will only be teaching remotely throughout the pandemic.

My artistic process commences with the act of sketching and drawing, disregarding the medium at hand.

As a teacher, I am a kind, patient, and motivating mentor. Witnessing my students grow and flourish instills immense joy within me.

I possess a wealth of knowledge as I have dedicated my entire life to being an artist, and have served as a master studio art teacher in public schools and colleges. I additionally instruct studio art classes for adults within diverse community centers and train fellow educators in optimal art teaching methods. I earned my MFA in Fine Art and Graphic Design in 1997, and invite you to explore my design website via the included link.

While I specialize in mixed media, painting (excluding oil), drawing, and printmaking, I am well-versed in an array of mediums, including bookmaking, sculpture, and illustration. My adoration for art spans cultures and periods, and I take great pleasure in enlightening students about accomplished artists.

Artistry is an incredible and emotional journey of self-exploration and self-expression, beyond solely constructing a craft. The process of witnessing my students discover their own unique style is an absolute privilege.

With me, you can expect to garner tremendous knowledge and grow exponentially as an artist while reveling in the entire process. Your time spent in my class will be both meaningful and valuable.

One of the greatest teachers I've ever had is Mrs. Zamarra, who personally supported and encouraged my development as an artist and pushed me to pursue a career in art. Without her influence, I wouldn't be on my way to college to study graphic design in hopes of becoming a professional. Mrs. Zamarra had high standards for design and helped me to reach them. Through designing with initials stamps, I learned the fundamentals of dynamic graphic design, which I now incorporate into my work. Our book project taught me to work in mixed media and the importance of great layout in book spread design. Mrs. Zamarra instilled in me the value of envisioning and applying different studio habits of mind. She never doubted my abilities and challenged me to think critically about my design choices, including placement, color, and font. Her teaching and guidance have become integral to my design process, and I reflect on everything she's taught me when creating new work. Though our class only spanned a year, it was packed with invaluable information and ideas. Without a doubt, Mrs. Zamarra is one of the best art teachers out there.

A friend, whose daughter had been taught by Lynn, suggested her to me. The friend spoke highly of Lynn's qualities as a patient, competent and effective art instructor. While I desired to learn how to draw, I knew a conventional art class would not be suitable for me. I requested a more personalized approach with a slower pace of learning. Lynn was understanding of my needs and spurred me on to work hard. As a result, I can now draw with precision and competence. I wholeheartedly endorse Lynn as an outstanding teacher who can give you the guidance you need.

Having art classes with Lynn provided me with the opportunity to experiment with diverse art forms and materials in a setting that fostered creativity and permitted me to work at a pace that suited me best. Lynn is an expert and imaginative instructor, while also being supportive and inspiring. It was an amazing experience, and the personalized attention was liberating and worth the investment.
