About
With a passion for music that began at the age of 6, I have become a young and dynamic music instructor skilled in multiple music genres. Not only do I teach as a music professor at Merritt College in addition, I am also a piano content developer at Ubisoft.My educational background includes a UC Irvine B.A. (2013), UC Irvine M.A. (2015), and Seattle Film Institute M.Mus. (2016). I have around 20 students ranging from 4 to 79 years of age in Fremont, and possess an ABRSM teaching certification that has helped my students pass the Certificate of Merit exam, giving them an edge in their college applications.
As an instructor, I strike a balance between humor and firm expectations for my students. My extensive experience and knowledge allows me to bring a wealth of skills to the table. Witnessing students achieve success beyond their expectations brings me great satisfaction, and I take pride in helping them unconsciously develop interpersonal skills and independence in order to learn how to play songs professionally on their own.

For one year, my daughter received lessons from Collin in Irvine. Punctuality was a strong suit of his, and he was adept at clearing up any confusion regarding the music. His education minor was evident in his ability to provide precise and understandable instruction, which assisted my daughter in improving her skills. Collin enjoyed introducing new music by first performing it, to capture my daughter's attention and stimulate her interest in learning. I hope that Collin will remain in Irvine and continue to teach my daughter music.

For approximately 9-10 months, my 7 year old son received piano lessons from Collin before he departed the city to pursue further studies. Collin is an exceptional piano teacher who establishes a strong foundation by emphasizing proper posture and technique to ensure that children don't experience unnecessary exhaustion and remain attentive. Collin was consistently punctual, and my son made considerable progress under his tutelage. I highly recommend Collin as a piano instructor.

My seven-year-old daughter had an exceptional piano teacher in Collin. He consistently arrived punctually and taught her with sincere dedication. He struck a balance between being friendly and having expectations, namely regarding her piano practice and posture. Under his guidance, my daughter progressed and played to a level that surprised me. It is unfortunate that we had to relocate for work reasons; otherwise, I would have kept my daughter under Collin's tutelage for as long as possible.
