About
My birth name is Satara Renee’ Brown, but growing up, most of my family called me NeNe or used my middle name. Negative derivatives of my name made it easier to go by Renee’. However, my mom once told me that Satara means “Shining Star,” a name given to me after an Indian male friend of hers. Although my family disregarded my birth name, I wanted to trust and believe in it. I chose to live up to the positive connotation of my name and become the shining star that my mom believed I could be. At times, I fell short, but I hope to help others achieve their full potential in their God-given lives.As a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and worship leader for over 20 years, I have had the honor of speaking and singing to nations worldwide. I am fortunate to be part of World Revival Church, pastored by Steve and Kathy Gray, where I have grown spiritually through local ministry changes, personal responsibility changes, mental illness, and sickness. I have learned that if I choose Jesus, my life will be more fulfilling. I will never change my mind about choosing Him.
In following Matthew 5:16, I encourage others to let their light shine so that others can glorify our Father in heaven. Anyone can be a Satara, a shining star.
