Abel Serrano

Abel Serrano is a self-taught photographer in his early 40s, residing in Los Angeles, CA. He is a creative professional who excels in creating portrait images and has a talent for web coding and visually appealing design. His journey with photography began at a young age when he received his first rectangular-shaped camera with Kodak 110 film cartridges. His turquoise camera was a staple for him, and he used it to capture anything he found interesting.

In his high school years, Abel joined the yearbook team and learned how to crop and size images using a non-photo blue pencil. Later, he went to college and took courses in graphic design, focusing on the digital medium. Although he struggled with the drawing aspect, he found his passion in web design and desktop publishing. With his newfound skills, he quickly gained the knowledge of coding and was able to design websites, thanks to his graphic design theory.

Abel has been successful in both his professional career and hobbyist pursuits as a web developer, honing his skills in code and design for over 20 years. In 2011, Abel felt a renewed passion for photography and decided to take it up again. Due to previous frustration with designing, he was inspired to improve his photography skills to ensure that the images he used for his design work were of high quality. He studied online courses, classes, and workshops, as well as read numerous articles and books about photography, and relentlessly practiced his photographing skills.

Finally, in late 2013, Abel made the decision to pursue a photography career, enabling him to combine his passion for portrait images and his web design expertise.
