I am enthusiastic about meeting new students and sharing my knowledge of music with them, regardless of their skill level. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced violinist wanting to advance to new levels, I can help. Everyone is welcome!

Malkastian is an internationally recognized violinist who has performed with the West-Eastern-Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim. He has also won various international competitions and holds a Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. His teaching experience includes private violin lessons in Maryland and DC, as well as coaching Harvard and NEC preparatory chamber groups through the QUAD program.

In addition, Malkastian has attended seminars, including the Juilliard Symposium on Violin Studies, and taken pedagogy courses at the University of Maryland. He has also taught a masterclass on improvisation at the Peabody Preparatory.

Malkastian's dedication to teaching extends beyond the classroom. He has been appointed as Assistant to Music Director and Audition Pre-Screener to NPR's "From the Top," where he reviewed applications and performance tapes from young musicians, chose performers, and programmed pieces for live shows.

Malkastian's continued education and participation in various programs and ensembles have equipped him with a well-rounded and adaptive approach to teaching students of different ages and skill levels. He is eager to hear from anyone who may be interested in violin lessons and is always happy to answer any questions.
