Georges Braque once said that art is supposed to provoke. For me, it's not about pleasing everyone with my creations. Rather, I want to elicit a deep emotional reaction - whether it's positive or negative. I've spent far too long capturing images that people deemed "pleasant" or "acceptable." But for me, mere "pleasantness" just won't cut it.
