With over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, teaching fitness classes and managing fitness facilities, I have yet to come across someone as knowledgeable and experienced as Brent. I have been training with Brent for 5 years, during which time he has greatly improved my overall health and resolved a persistent shoulder issue that I struggled with for a long time.
Despite visiting reputable rehabilitation centers, recommended by esteemed orthopedic specialists and doctors, I didn't get the results I hoped for until I started training at Advanced Training Techniques. The personalized, one-on-one approach at Advanced Training Techniques has yielded far better results than typical physical therapy programs or other rehabilitation plans. Brent's expertise in the working of the human body and proper alignment has been more beneficial to me than the typical physical therapy programs that overlook such details.
Advanced Training Techniques' intuitive methodologies that use one's own body weight and proper alignment to increase strength and flexibility are far better than using rehabilitative equipment at a clinic. The level of care and attention I have received at Advanced Training Techniques has surpassed any experience I've had before. Brent and the team have a genuine interest and concern for their clients, making their approach more effective.

For almost 6 years now, I have been under the training of Brent, who I can confidently say is the best trainer I have ever had at the age of 34. My background includes being a speed skater throughout my teenage years, which led to several back and knee issues. For years, I sought physical therapy, but unfortunately never found a solution. After injuring my shoulder during a workout, I decided to consult a well-known sports medicine doctor who only spent 10 minutes with me, asked a few questions, pushed and pulled on my arm, and then diagnosed me with a pulled rotator cuff, prescribing physical therapy. However, I had met Brent a few months earlier and chose to take another approach since traditional physical therapy clinics had not been successful for me. During my hour-long assessment, Brent amazed me by asking in-depth questions and identifying the root cause of my problem, which had been misdiagnosed by the highly praised doctor. Turns out, I had a pulled bicep where it attaches to the shoulder, a problem that is often misdiagnosed as a rotator cuff injury. Brent explained that had it been my rotator cuff, I would not have been able to do everything he had me do during the assessment. I began training with him two to three times a week, and I could not believe how quickly I healed and how much I learned from him. I loved that he educated his clients on why he did what he did and how it impacted their bodies. I applied the information Brent gave me, fully comprehending that my dedication to following his advice dictated the degree of my results. Undoubtedly, I refuse to go to another trainer because Brent is the best in his profession and is continuously innovating new techniques. His vast knowledge of the human body is nothing short of impressive.

Although I've never written an online review before, after reading Leslie G.'s negative comments about Brent, I feel compelled to voice my own experience. I've been working with Brent for over three years and cannot recommend him highly enough. He's an expert in his field with a wealth of knowledge and professionalism, and has helped me completely transform my body. This has resulted in a substantial increase in strength, no pain and an overall feeling of optimal well-being.
Brent's credentials are impressive, having earned a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Michigan State University. He also holds personal training, senior fitness, nutrition and sports nutrition certifications, which are proudly displayed in his studio. However, as Leslie did not mention any of these qualifications, it's doubtful that she actually visited his studio. Instead, Brent typically charges $70 per hour for clients who attend his studio, whereas clients who prefer him to come to their homes are charged a higher fee.
Brent's approach to fitness is distinctly tailored to each individual under one-on-one supervision, and focuses on wellness and functionality. There are no mirrors or machines, and he never pushes clients to the point of pain. Brent has developed his own proprietary method, which is far from what is typically offered by personal trainers in a gym. Body image and weight loss are secondary to Brent, as his primary focus is the careful calibration of each client's body, ensuring that the muscles are properly aligned and able to work effectively.
I can attest to the fact that Brent's methodology is sound and highly effective. He is also knowledgeable about the latest fitness trends, and is always happy to provide in-depth, academic explanations for any aspect of his approach. I myself have learned that heat is best for muscle soreness, as it increases blood flow and nutrient exchange, promoting faster healing, while ice is typically only used to reduce swelling and immediate pain. These aspects of Brent's training have resulted in an overall sense of wellness and optimal health for me.
If Leslie experienced disappointment with Brent's service in only three weeks, it seems unlikely that she was seeking the same transformative experience that I and others have successfully achieved with Brent's help. I do not find her review to be a fair reflection of his abilities or character, and I urge others not to discount Brent based on one review. For those seeking a knowledgeable and effective personal trainer, I wholeheartedly recommend Brent.
