The experience was a complete disaster. The contractor took $20,000 and performed every task poorly while also causing damage to my home. We had to terminate his services within the first quarter of the project because he did not acquire the necessary permits and was not licensed in Texas. We have reported the situation to the police, city, county, and state. However, none of them seem to know anything about him as he's only listed on a few websites. We strongly advise against hiring this individual because he's unreliable and has no regard for his customers. He only showed up on time when he came to collect payment. The original contract specified a build time of two to three weeks and a cost of $35,000, but he failed to complete the job even by August. He also threatened to place a lien on our home and seize ownership. When we reached out to CrackerJack for help, they were initially cooperative but later claimed they couldn't assist because we weren't premium members. We will be taking legal action against him and CrackerJack. We urge you never to hire him or use this site because they employ unlicensed and uninsured contractors who do shoddy work. They placed the slabs incorrectly and damaged the drain pipe in the process, rendering the therapy tub installation impossible. Our pipes must now be replaced because of his error, which he said he would rectify but never did. Even after repeated attempts to get a refund or have the job fixed, he refused and insisted we owed him $17,500 more. He claimed to be a veteran, yet he destroyed our home and stole our money. We have incurred nearly $10,000 in repairs thus far but anticipate more than $50,000 in additional repairs before restarting the project. We're unable to continue due to a lack of funds, insufficient receipts, and confirmation that he never paid the cement company. We possess evidence and are willing to provide additional images, videos, copies of cashed checks, texts, and more. CrackerJack's safety team overlooked our case, and we strongly suggest that you avoid this site and thoroughly research any contractors before hiring them.
