After a prompt response, they visited the project site and their price was fair, hence I decided to hire them. Fortunately, the work they did was excellent!

It is important to respond promptly to phone calls and emails once someone agrees to do business with you. Failing to do so is unprofessional and disrespectful of the other person's time. If you are no longer interested in the job, simply communicate that to them. It is better to be upfront about your intentions than to leave them guessing and waiting for a response. Personally, I would have appreciated it if you had let me know instead of leaving me wondering why you never followed through after we discussed pricing and I spent time creating a contract. Thank you.
