As a seasoned professional in this industry, I strongly believe that experience is paramount. With over 35 years of teaching under my belt, my name is Matt Gittelson and I am the proud owner of North County Drum Lessons. This is not just a hobby for me, it is my full-time occupation- I practice what I preach. Matt is an amazing drum teacher who my 7-year-old daughter adores. She always eagerly anticipates her weekly lessons with him. As a parent, I have the privilege of observing the lessons, and I must say that Matt is an excellent teacher. Despite my daughter's shyness with new people, Matt's instruction is delivered with enthusiasm and at an appropriate level, making her feel entirely at ease. We previously had a drum teacher who also taught our daughter piano and ukulele, but we felt she needed a dedicated drum tutor to advance her playing. Matt fits the bill perfectly. He emphasizes the importance of correcting bad habits while encouraging creativity and individual style, all while keeping the lessons lighthearted and enjoyable.
