Dogs by Doug

Our one-year-old puppy, Cali, was untrained when we got her at eight months old. Although gentle, we wanted her to be well-trained and sent her to Doug. While Cali was not a bad dog, Doug taught her how to jump into a car during her evaluation, which was very helpful since we had previously struggled to drag and lift her into the car, especially while I was eight months pregnant. After spending three weeks with Doug, Cali made significant progress. She can now obey the “heel” command even while off-leash and with the electric collar. She has also improved her “leave it” skill and is less picky about her food. In addition, she now understands the commands “off,” “bed,” “sit,” and “down,” and quickly learns new tricks. While there is still much left to teach her since she is still a puppy, Doug has provided her with the building blocks and confidence to learn quickly. Impressively, she even learned to ring the bell on the back door in just a couple of days after returning from Doug’s training. We highly recommend working with Doug!

Our male basset led the way and proved to be quite resilient. The transformation upon his return was remarkable, and we are now committed to the continuation of his training. Presently, our female basset is accompanying him, and we are eagerly anticipating the results upon her return this April.
