Esoteric Shuri-Ryu

The art of Shuri-Ryu Karate is becoming increasingly rare. At the age of five, my father introduced me to the practice and I attended three weekly classes which continued into adulthood. My style of karate emphasizes developing robust minds, bodies, and spirits to create resilient individuals. Rinshi, my master, learned directly from Robert A. Trias, the founder of the style. During the first session, I will gauge your preferred learning style as the art is quite harsh and not for everyone. I have decided to resume teaching in order to impart my 25 years of knowledge to those who are eager to learn. I have experience teaching a broad range of individuals including point fighters, UFC athletes, and women's self-defense classes.

My teaching style ranges from traditional karate to contemporary martial arts. There is no emphasis on belts or rank, so feel free to ask as many questions as you like. I can provide ample references from my tenure of teaching in South Carolina for nearly 15 years.

I have experience working with children, young adults, men, women, and even animals. Classes will be conducted in public parks in Boulder while adhering to social distancing guidelines since the safety and health of my students is my top priority. To reduce the risk, I will be offering a special discount for those who bring a training partner.
