Dan Walker

Working with Dan has been an amazing experience. I have been able to learn something new every lesson, and he is always willing to answer any questions that I may have. I don't believe that I could have found a better instructor.

Dan is an amazing person!! He possesses a vast wealth of knowledge and the ability to connect with novice learners while maintaining an engaging and entertaining atmosphere. I find it extremely enjoyable to acquire new songs while simultaneously obtaining fundamental music principles. I strongly endorse his instruction!!

He's a relaxed and easygoing guy to talk to, with a chill demeanor. He provides fresh and unique perspectives on guitar that had never crossed my mind before.

Not only does Dan possess insane guitar skills, but he is an exceptional teacher in numerous other areas. His expertise in performing and refining the “ear” to detect song subtleties is extensive, and he is both professional and focused while still incorporating fun and playfulness into lessons. Dan’s interactive approach and ability to enhance existing skills provides great encouragement. Although being self-taught in guitar, I was apprehensive that lessons with Dan would consist mainly of music theory. However, I was happily mistaken as Dan tailored his teaching to suit my existing skill set, ultimately helping me to bring more structure to my creative process.

Having attempted to teach myself guitar through YouTube for a few years, I eventually surrendered and decided to seek out a proper instructor. After several sessions with Dan, I quickly realized that I should have done so much earlier. Dan is an expert in theory, technique, composition, and live performances. He effectively helped me to abandon the bad habits I had developed from teaching myself guitar and provided me with a strong foundation to work from. Dan was exceptional in gauging my current skill level and assisting me in expressing the direction I wanted to take with guitar in general. Due to his experience in numerous cover bands, he instructed me on countless songs from his memory. Although many of the songs I initially wanted to learn seemed beyond my skill level, he was able to break them down and show me simpler ways to play them that I couldn't have found online. Dan is a patient, encouraging, and enjoyable instructor who entices me to continue returning. He's well-organized, capable of going at any pace that I feel comfortable with, and sends notes from each session. YouTube and online tabs cannot compare to the value of authentic instruction. I intend to continue rocking out with Dan in the foreseeable future.
