Backyard Ponds was founded in 1996 and operates from its headquarters in Rockville. As a woman-owned business, we offer free estimates for work within our territory. Our specialty services include the design, installation, and refurbishment of decorative ponds. We also provide repair and replacement services for pumps, liners, skimmers, tubing, filters, lighting, aquatic plants, and rock. Additionally, we diagnose and repair leaks, patch liners, and rebuild waterfalls.Regular maintenance is key to keeping your pond in pristine condition, which is why we offer routine cleanings, algae control, water changes, touch-ups, rock realignment, plant trimming, and fertilization services. Our weekly/monthly maintenance plan ensures that your pond remains sparkling throughout the year. We also provide winterization services that involve blowing out your filtration system, pond netting, and the use of de-icers.
At Backyard Ponds, we carry a diverse range of pond supplies, such as plants, fish food, lighting and transformers, pumps, skimmers, rock, filters, pump defenders, de-chlorinators, and koi castles. While we do not sell koi or goldfish, we can help re-home overstocked customers' free fish.

Our pond was exceptionally cleaned by Backyard Ponds. Their extensive services included extracting years of accumulated sludge and waste, power washing every rock and delicately repositioning them. In addition, they enhanced the efficacy of our waterfall by cleaning the pump. The added illumination from the installed light fixtures and transformer is a charming sight in the evenings. I am impressed by their services and will be returning to them for upkeep. I highly recommend them to anyone who owns a pond.
