In 1979, I began my journey as a flooring installer. The job is physically demanding and requires a greater degree of skill than I ever anticipated. A crucial aspect of the installation process is the art of stretching the carpet, which necessitates precision and attention to detail. The carpet needs to be stretched tightly and uniformly to avoid any unsightly wrinkles or bumps that may appear over time with regular use. In fact, I've encountered many instances where poorly installed carpets have resulted in extensive ripples and humps. However, correcting these problems is even more challenging than the initial installation process.If you want to address a carpet issue, it's crucial to get it right. Don and Eldon were exemplary in their punctuality and efficiency in the installation of our carpet. Despite being provided with pictures of our fully furnished rooms, I had mistakenly informed them that we would clear out the furniture before their arrival. Consequently, they were pleasantly surprised to find the space empty and assumed they would have to handle the furniture themselves. Although I had requested a discount for their lighter workload, they refused to comply. While I believe they should have provided some concession, I still consider them worthy of recommendation for future carpet installation work, provided that the parties negotiate in advance.
