Javier was quick to respond and informed me that he could arrive at the job site within half an hour, so I instructed him to come over. The job was completed satisfactorily, and it took him less than an hour to rectify the issue. The issue was attributable to three faulty breakers - one of which failed to work (caused by a wall heater), while the handles of the other two had snapped off, necessitating the use of a screwdriver to reset them. I was of the opinion that the final cost was exorbitant, considering that it exceeded five hundred dollars, and even though Javier suggested that he would give me a discount and charge five hundred only, this was not an affordable figure for me since I am retired and rely on Social Security. I also learnt that the breakers he had installed were second-hand, as there were no longer any new ones available for my panel. Therefore, I intend to investigate this further. However, due to the urgency of the situation, I had to accept his proposal, since three of my bedrooms were without lighting. During our discussions, Javier repeatedly advised that I should revamp or replace the panel, and if I agreed, he would not bill me for the work done on that day. He quoted me a price of thirty-six hundred dollars, which could be paid at one hundred and fifty dollars per month for two years. As a skilled and efficient electrician, Javier conducted himself professionally, but his fees were costly and difficult to afford. I consulted YouTube and discovered that replacing a breaker could take as little as five minutes, so I remain bewildered about the high cost. Consequently, I intend to research the cost of breakers diligently in the coming days. Thank you.
