Ian is a highly motivated owner-operator who displays exceptional dedication to his work. His honesty shines through in both his eyes and actions. I previously collaborated with him on the development and administration of an interplanting/quasi permaculture initiative on our vineyard estate, and I am delighted to report that we are now in our third year of successful expansion under his guidance.

Ian and his team were engaged by my husband and me to oversee the replanting and management of 2-acres of logged land. Our objectives for the site were given due consideration throughout the entire process. Clear communication was maintained, and factors such as plant material selection, planting timeline, and site visits were discussed at length. Ian was readily available via email and phone, and his responses were always swift. The quality of the plant materials delivered was outstanding. Having been highly impressed with their work on the 2-acre plot, we commissioned Phoenix Habitats to plant native shrubs and flowers in three more areas on our property. We strongly recommend their services.

In our experience, Phoenix Habitats is an exceptional company that excels in all aspects. They are currently working on our .76 acre property in SW Portland, which was heavily wooded and overrun by invasive plant species. Thanks to Ian and the staff, we no longer have English Ivy, Himalayan Blackberries, Holly or any other invasive plants. They are now restoring our property by planting carefully selected native trees, bushes, and groundcovers, considering soil, sun exposure, and water needs. Working with Ian and Phoenix Habitats has surpassed our expectations. The planning, scheduling and coordinating with us on plant material choices/preferences has been enjoyable and enlightening. Ian is a great communicator and extremely reliable, alleviating any worries that come with working with contractors. Considering environmental impact is vital to us, and we appreciate Phoenix Habitats' dedication to green and environmentally-friendly practices, especially since our property has a small tributary that eventually flows into Tryon Creek. Although not the cheapest option, Phoenix Habitats is undoubtedly worth the investment. We are ecstatic with their work and surely recommend them without reservations. So, go ahead and hire them!

Working with Ian at Phoenix Habitats over the last year has been a fantastic experience for us! Our project involves restoring riparian and forest habitats that back up to Johnson Creek, which has been funded through a grant provided by the EMCSWD. Ian has been instrumental in setting up the grant and advising on the best ways to prioritize and schedule work while adhering to the grant parameters. He even writes bids for the grant and recommends parts of the plan that can be completed through volunteer hours to aid in our match. His attention to detail has been invaluable, allowing us to stay confident that everything is taken care of, and we can focus our efforts on other tasks. Ian has been both professional and personable, always available to answer any questions or listen to our ideas with quality responses. His crews have also been a joy to work with, removing invasive species and planting new native ones with great care. With a new phase of the project on the horizon, Ian has even offered to renew our grant without us having to ask. We're excited to see our hard work paying off, and the attached photos show the impressive transformation from the "Before" shot in June 2020 to the "After" shot in August 2020, showcasing the removal of ivy and the installation of jute netting to prevent soil erosion and bolster new growth.

Phoenix Habitats is unmatched when it comes to their ardor, proficiency, and commitment towards their projects. Ian and Abigail's purpose in life revolves around revitalizing indigenous ecological systems in human habitats. Their assistance in executing an extensive ecological restoration initiative in my backyard has led me to wholeheartedly endorse them with utmost satisfaction.
