Our upstairs air conditioning system stopped cooling properly. Unfortunately, it took some time for us to detect the issue. Nonetheless, we were pleased with the technician's quick response to our call. He promptly identified two problems: a swollen capacitor that wasn't making contact internally and a low refrigerant level for both upstairs and downstairs units. Hopefully, the refrigerant had slowly leaked out over time. The technician warned us that larger replacement parts in the system could cost up to a few thousand dollars depending on what part fails. Additionally, if those parts started to fail, other expensive components might follow soon after. He also informed us that a new unit could cost roughly eight thousand dollars and suggested that if we encounter more significant issues, we should consider purchasing a new unit that comes with a ten-year warranty. After the technician serviced both units, they ran efficiently with lower energy consumption. We were impressed with his knowledge and the work he did. Also, since our units are now running less often, we expect to save money on our electricity bill. While older AC units could last for decades, modern ones are designed to last for around ten years before they become obsolete. We felt that we were treated fairly and would follow One-Way Air's recommendation if more significant issues arise.
