I am delighted to have completed this project - the inside of my fireplace looks significantly better now. I have taken a before and after picture, and the latter is currently drying. 😄

Merry did an excellent job of addressing my worries about the damage to my chimney's siding.

My belief was that the prices were too high. Despite not utilizing any components, I was still subject to sales tax. Further, I was not provided with an invoice or a 30-day guarantee for the provided services.

To improve, NOA should prioritize performing with integrity. When our usual chimney sweep/inspection company was booked until December, I contacted NOA. They quoted $109 over the phone to clean the chimney and $49 to connect a new gas starter element/pipe. However, upon seeing a picture of the chimney vent pipe, the technician initially estimated a cost of $499 just for cleaning the duct vent due to excessive creosote. As we clean our chimney annually and did not believe the buildup was severe, we negotiated the price down to $50. The technician did discover gaps in the seam, which was positive, and offered to patch it for $250. However, they were unable to install the starter pipe I purchased (which had the highest safety rating) and so I had to purchase one from NOA, which was overpriced. In total, I paid $680 for chimney cleaning, seam patching, and pipe installation. The actual cleaning took less than 10 minutes, and each patch and pipe installation took only 15 minutes, but the technician was unfamiliar with the type of pipe I provided. While the duct cleaning and seam patching were satisfactory, I discovered that I overpaid significantly for NOA's services. This job should have cost between $280 and $360 at most. Additionally, their inspection did not include the chimney cap. Despite tipping the crew, I will not hire NOA again due to the excessive charges they applied once inside my home.
