Music Lessons For All Ages

Around a year and a half ago, I began playing the violin using a guidebook on Irish fiddling. In July, an advertisement caught my eye for a violin teacher who specialized in bluegrass, Celtic fiddling, and classical violin. Needless to say, I was thrilled. When I first started my lessons, I had developed some poor habits, such as holding the neck of the violin like a pizza and having poor bow technique. However, my teacher Jerry Pajel was incredibly skilled at breaking these habits. He has taught me a great deal and my violin abilities have significantly improved in a short period of time. Jerry is devoted to the violin and is highly gifted. He ensures that his students truly understand the lessons while keeping it enjoyable. He is also very flexible in his teaching style, tailoring the lessons to my fiddle music interests. For example, he introduced me to Celtic and bluegrass songs and taught me techniques such as slides, flicks, and grace notes. Even though I live an hour away from Stockton, where Jerry is located, it was worth the drive for me to learn from him. I consider myself blessed to have had the opportunity to receive fiddle instruction from Jerry.
