I teach music in a way that's similar to how one acquires a language: by interacting with native speakers, learning figures of speech, idioms, and how to think for oneself. You essentially figure it out on the fly and graduate to reading and writing shortly thereafter. Unlike music, which is typically taught backwards, where you get a book and try to decipher symbols on a piece of paper to sound like a native speaker, often disregarding your input and ceding your autonomy to follow orders. With me, you'll learn to read and acquire many other skills to bring forth your ideas and have fun along the way. I'm a composer with a style that you can hear in my videos and audio samples. I believe that a teacher should do more than just teach students to play someone else's music as a playback machine. Instead, I foster creativity, free thinking, and independence while still teaching theory and the nuts and bolts of music. My fees are $130 per month for one 30-minute lesson per week or $250 for one 60-minute lesson per week, with payment due at the start of each month.
