Greetings! I am Josh Mundt, a guitarist and saxophonist hailing from Denver, Colorado. Music is my passion, and teaching is my calling. Watching students grow and discover the joys of playing music brings me immense excitement, which is why teaching is a core aspect of my musical journey rather than just a way to make ends meet. Your goals always take top priority, and I am committed to helping you achieve them.Why pick me as your instructor? Well, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Music with a focus on Jazz guitar. I have taught with prestigious institutions such as the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts and the School of Rock. Furthermore, I have also led group music classes in several classrooms, both in primary and higher education. I bring with me years of experience in individual and group teaching and countless gigs.
As a student in college, I received a comprehensive education that encompassed music theory, ear training, musicology, audio engineering, and music business beyond guitar performance. I also played in numerous gigs, seized all opportunities to teach, and attended live shows to fuel my inspiration.
My teaching style revolves around goal-setting. There is no one size fits all approach to music education, as each student has different aspirations and learns differently. Whether you dream of playing in a big-time university or want to jam with your buddies, we will create an achievable step-by-step plan to get there. I also make sure our lessons are relaxed and enjoyable, as music is, above all, about the joy it brings us.
I have specialized in Jazz, yet Metal guitar is something I adore and teach as well. Lessons are currently available on Zoom, allowing for better visualization and the option to provide additional resources. I will also supply you with materials to use after each lesson, so you never forget crucial concepts.
