US Realty Hub, Florida - Dustin Shannon

More than a decade has passed since Dustin started his first volunteer job at a museum. The Smoky Hill Museum gave him a high school internship that lasted for five years, sparking his enthusiasm for history and volunteerism. His interest in this area prompted him to undertake a personal project in preserving the Sanborn Cemetery Project in New Cambria, KS. Dustin continued to improve the historic preservation field at the Old Cowtown Museum, where he served as both the Mercantile Clerk and Funeral Director. He also initiated a project about the abandoned town of Chico, KS, and co-authored a book concerning Saline County's history. Recently, he published "Defunct Amusement Parks of Alabama: Space City USA," an investigation into a park that never came to be. As the historian at Shannon Historical Associates, he emphasized his focus on reviving desolate cemeteries and forgotten burial places.

During this time, Dustin's budding interest in real estate motivated him to pursue licensure in Alabama. He emerged as a buyer's agent for eXp Realty in August 2020 and has since worked with several brokers, including Revolved Realty and Realty Hub. While Dustin continues to provide real estate services in Alabama and has expanded his reach to the Destin area of Florida, his volunteer work in historical preservation and his real estate sales often intersect since the former has given him insight into the inner workings of historic towns.

Dustin has overcome several obstacles over the years, with each step he took bringing him closer to his goals. His career is marked by many peaks, and he continues to flourish regardless of location or work performed.
