For approximately 4-5 months, I received guidance from Trevor as a beginner. Through his teachings, I was able to master the art of slowing down and practicing in a more methodical and efficient manner. Trevor is a skilled musician with a focus on technique, and he excelled at breaking down complex concepts. He tailors the lessons according to your interests and knowledge, and goes as deep into theory as you desire. What I particularly appreciated about Trevor is his versatility across various genres and his approachability in answering any guitar, equipment, or music-related inquiries with great depth. I worked alongside Trevor for around eighteen months, with a hiatus of a few months where I was out of the country. Despite taking a few guitar lessons when I was younger, I never managed to pick the skill up very well - I never even learned a song. A couple years ago, however, I decided to renew my interest in the instrument and, rather than wait around for more time to become available, I opted for some proper training instead of trying to piece it all together from online lessons every so often. The method worked wonders. Without ever feeling like a chore, I made significant progress - I chose a song, often non-acoustic or non-guitar focused, and then Trevor and I would adapt the music to suit our preferred styles. Like learning a language, by practicing with songs, I began noticing patterns and techniques. Every song brought some new method to learn and focus on. As we progressed to the level where we could play the entirety of the song without pausing, we added our own flairs and styles that complemented the music, rather than simply strumming through a few chords we found online. The adaptations were truly our own. Trevor was a great guy - so accommodating, especially as I had a packed student schedule. He was genuinely interested in his students and in music. I always enjoyed catching up with him at the beginning of each lesson, and he was always available via text if I had questions or new project ideas. He had an aptitude not only for playing, but also adapting and teaching a wide range of songs. So, if you've been pondering learning to play guitar, now is the time - and Trevor is the man for the job.

I highly recommend Trevor as a game changer for anyone looking for virtual music lessons. Initially, I was skeptical about virtual lessons and preferred in-person lessons. However, due to Covid, I had to opt for virtual lessons and I contacted Trevor for an introductory lesson. I was hooked from that day on! The Zoom software used for the lessons works well and offers additional benefits. At the end of each lesson, Trevor records whatever we were working on, and I find it helpful to reference the videos during the week while practicing. He is also excellent at writing and explaining concepts on a whiteboard during theory lessons. Trevor is an excellent teacher with a great personality, sense of humor, patience and the ability to simplify complex concepts. He has helped elevate my guitar playing tremendously. For years, I struggled with playing Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Pride and Joy, but now I’m playing it live at 90% tempo. We are also working on improvisation and progressing through blues songs from Freddie King to Eric Clapton and SRV. Thanks to Trevor, I have gained an understanding of the pentatonic scales and the theory behind soloing with real emotion over jam tracks. I’m thrilled with my progress and couldn't be happier with the continuing lessons. If you're looking for a top-notch teacher, it’s Trevor!
