Description:

I hold both an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work, obtained from Liberty University and Northwest Nazarene University, respectively. With a license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and certification as a Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), my primary focus lies in addiction and mental health. Certified in trauma in the state of Idaho, I am also trained in EMDR therapy for trauma and challenging personal issues. With over 20 years of experience in spiritual and emotional well-being for individuals and families, I am now developing my private counseling practice at Safe Haven Counseling Center, where I welcome new clients.

As a Christian counselor, my primary goal is to provide a secure environment for individuals to share their story without feeling judged or criticized. My clients can expect an engaging and challenging therapy experience throughout their journey to becoming who they were meant to be. My belief is that God’s intention was for peace, love, and community for all of humanity. However, sin has made it a difficult path to follow, leading to problems with relationships, injustices, and shortcomings. As a result, I offer an empathetic, compassionate approach when helping clients sort through their feelings and experiences, as well as identifying patterns in their lives that may require adaptation for them to become healthier individuals.

Every person has a story that’s entirely unique, and my approach to Christian counseling is to assist my clients with understanding their own experiences, how they’ve impacted others and themselves, and how their stories can fit into God’s redemptive plan. I believe that it’s vital for individuals to be completely honest with themselves about where they’ve come from and where they envision themselves moving forward. I am highly relational and committed to offering hope, even when people can’t see it for themselves. Clients are welcome to meet with me in-person or via Skype for their convenience.

Prior to seeking counseling, I lacked any clear understanding of what to expect. However, Tina proved to be a conversationalist who listened attentively while offering invaluable counsel. She proved instrumental in guiding me through one of the most difficult periods of my life. I would not hesitate in recommending her services to loved ones or anyone who requires assistance.
