Hello potential student, thank you for taking the time to peruse my profile. I offer both in-person and online lessons, which have proven to be highly beneficial for both myself and my students. I encourage you to give a few lessons a shot to experience it yourself!
In my lessons, I cover topics such as harmony, improvisation, rhythm skills, and chord voicings. I provide videos of myself playing songs and solos, as well as bass play-along accompaniments for exercises and most songs. My approach is comprehensive, and I share a myriad of PDFs on chords and written solos, focusing on various styles such as swing, bossa nova, ballads, and more. Above all, I pay great attention to your timing and rhythm.
I hold a Master's degree and have studied with respected private teachers such as Jaki Byard, Clare Fischer, Spud Murphy, Charlie Shoemake, and Terry Trotter. I welcome individuals of any age or skill level, and I teach not only piano but songwriting, harmony, and theory.

In my opinion, Tim is an excellent teacher. I have been under his guidance for seven months as a beginner piano player at the age of 42 with no prior experience. Despite my lack of experience compared to other students, Tim has effectively created a course method for me to learn the basics. Here are several things I admire about Tim's lessons:
- He displays significant patience during lessons when I am struggling with a concept (which is crucial for a successful teacher)
- He designates appropriate material based on my skill level
- He provides helpful constructive feedback and holds me accountable for perfecting details in my assignments
- He demonstrates examples of how pieces should be played
- His ear is incredible; he can identify individual notes even when not looking at my hands
