Description:

My tutoring business began organically as parents from my classes requested my services for their other children. With growing demand, I eventually transitioned into full-time tutoring. I have a passion for mathematics and take pride in helping students achieve their goals.

My credentials include a license to teach math for grades 5-12 in Minnesota, almost 10 years of classroom experience, and 5 years of private tutoring. Additionally, I possess certification for International Baccalaureate Higher and Standard Levels, as well as experience teaching various math courses, including Calculus 2. I hold a degree from St. Olaf College and am in the final stages of completing my Master's in Math from the University of North Alabama.

Currently, I balance tutoring with caring for my two young daughters. As most of my clients come through referrals, I have limited presence and reviews on CrackerJack.

Enlisting Andy to tutor my eleventh-grade son in math for the PSAT proved to be a wise investment. After assessing my son's skills, Andy tailored a curriculum to address his areas of weakness. Regular progress updates were provided by Andy throughout the course. At the midpoint of the sessions, my son took a practice test and improved his score by approximately 100 points. Given this successful outcome, I intend to tap Andy's services again before my son's SAT next year.

Last year, Andy provided invaluable tutoring to our son in Advanced Algebra, resulting in his academic success. Despite meeting only once a week for 60 minutes, Andy effectively taught and reinforced the necessary material, leading to an A grade. Our son enjoyed working with Andy, and we highly recommend him for future tutoring needs. While we had Andy scheduled to tutor our son this year, the math content is now too easy, and he no longer requires tutoring. For the past few years, two of my children have received tutoring from Andy, and he has been exceptional. Once again, he recently taught my daughter Geometry for an entire year in just three months, enabling her to test out of it at her exclusive high school. As a result, she can now take pre-calculus as a sophomore. I highly recommend Andy because he is easy to schedule with, has the skill to make difficult math concepts easier to grasp for children, and, most importantly, he is genuinely a pleasant person.
