Having spent nearly 17 years serving as a K9 Handler, trainer, and Kennel Master in the Marine Corps, along with 3 years of training to become a certified law enforcement dog trainer, and most recently, 2 years as the Director of K9 Operations in Iraq, my extensive knowledge and experience enable me to fulfill all of your needs. My training philosophy revolves around open communication and building a relationship with your dog that is respectful and mutual. Our team consists of 3 full-time trainers who specialize in obedience & behavior modification for basic needs, as well as protection, detection, and tracking for advanced dogs. I am a nationally certified police dog trainer and have endorsements from the NADOI and IACP. We are also fully insured.
At our core, we are passionate about educating people on how to better understand their dogs. Witnessing the transformation between owner and pet is a truly rewarding experience for us.

Not only did Dana serve as our trainer, but she also became a genuine friend who assisted us in teaching Elijah to not only follow instructions but also recognize when he is on duty with us. Additionally, Elijah has gained proficiency in dock diving, which we consider to be the ultimate animal sport. During our search for a dog trainer, Tandem K9 caught our attention through a general web search on CrackerJack. After downloading the app and requesting results for dog training, we found 6-7 matches and read reviews to narrow down our options. We were initially cautious about the cost but believe in the value of reviews from other customers.
What stood out about Tandem K9 was Dana's accreditation and experience in training dogs for the US military. Despite the hour drive to her Hilliard location, meeting with Dana and Lee convinced us that their training would be worth the cost. Dana's no-nonsense approach and example of successful training with one of her own dogs made us confident in our decision.

Dana is undoubtedly a gift to Earth from the universe. She has a special talent for helping pawrents understand their canine's communication. Dog training feels more like a continuous workshop with Dana, where both the dog and pawrents learn to communicate effectively and create a mutually respectful relationship. Dana effortlessly creates a blueprint for behavior and patiently watches and corrects during practice sessions. It's truly remarkable and highly recommended.
