With Mr. Stockdale, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and had an unforgettable piano learning experience. After every lesson, I walk out feeling assured of my abilities.

Even though I had been playing guitar for years, I lacked proper theoretical knowledge. I decided to hire John as my music instructor, hoping to enhance my skills. Thankfully, he has done an amazing job. Although I have only been studying under him for a short while, I can already perceive a striking improvement in my playing and comprehension of music.

Throughout my time as a pupil at Stockdale School, my knowledge of the guitar has greatly expanded. Mr. Stockdale's teaching abilities are truly exceptional. He employs an enjoyable approach to learning, distinguishing between fun and work lessons, and even permitting students to select what they would like to learn on their fun days. Furthermore, he provides instruction on all facets of music, with a focus on thorough comprehension. As a result, this environment is immensely conducive to musical education.

Having spent a year with Mr. Stockdale, I must say it has been an outstanding experience. His mastery of work methodology is unparalleled, and I've gained vast knowledge of music theory and guitar. His expertise spans across various subjects, and he is a fantastic personality.

For the past 5-6 years, I've been playing guitar on and off, teaching myself as I went along. However, I've come to realize that I lack many of the fundamental skills that I should have learned when I first started. While I can improvise and play full songs on both electric and acoustic guitars, and even understand the basic scales, I feel like I've hit a wall. I crave more direct instruction without the hassle of sifting through countless YouTube videos. I've tried taking lessons before, but my old teacher only gave me written tabs for songs and didn't delve into the underlying theory behind them. In the past two years, I've grown more serious about playing and realized I needed a teacher to fill in the gaps in my knowledge. I wanted someone who could help me improvise, write my own music, and confidently play in a band. Thankfully, I've found John. Even though I've only been taking lessons for three weeks, I could tell from the get-go that John was the right teacher for me. He is incredibly knowledgeable both on the guitar and in musical theory overall. After evaluating my skill level, he's provided me with a custom packet of materials to work through each week. John believes in teaching the foundational aspects of music and has also provided me with excellent tips for live performance and recording in the studio. His ultimate goal is for each of his students to be able to record their own music by the end of their lessons – a goal I have no doubt I'll achieve with his help. Working with someone as experienced as John is almost overwhelming – it has made me realize that, despite playing for years, I've barely scratched the surface.
