Hello there! My name is Alison MacHaffie, and I specialize in teaching woodwind instruments, with particular emphasis on the flute. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Music Education from West Virginia University in 1997, and subsequently pursued a Master's degree in Ethnomusicology at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2001. Besides, I also have training in music therapy and have been incorporating this into my support work with individuals with disabilities since 2003. I pride myself on making my classes enjoyable while simultaneously ensuring that my students remain responsible and accountable for their progress. It is a pleasure to work with students spanning all age groups and proficiency levels. Watching my students learn and thrive while also experiencing the therapeutic benefits of music never fails to bring me profound joy. Also, don't forget to avail the **complimentary** first lesson!
