Greetings! As a graduate of The Juilliard School, I specialized in Piano Performance under the tutelage of esteemed pianists Emanuel Ax and Oxana Yablonskaya. Please note that I am currently residing in Orange County, California, and am available to provide virtual lessons for out-of-state students upon request.
For local students, I offer in-person lessons as well as online instruction through FaceTime, Zoom, and Skype. To get started, prospective students can reach out for a complimentary 30-minute online trial and evaluation.
With over 25 years of experience, I have maintained a private piano studio in NYC, Los Angeles, and Orange County. Additionally, I have been providing online lessons for a decade. Despite my rigorous training, I believe in a nurturing and enjoyable approach that tailors each student's curriculum to build upon their strengths while navigating the challenges.
My ultimate objective is to equip each student with the tools to play the music they love and cultivate an appreciation for all fine arts. I also provide coaching for those preparing for conservatory auditions, competitions, and performances.

My nine-year-old daughter has had a few piano teachers, but Ms. Sonya is by far the best educator we have come across. With her compassionate nature, she has instilled in my daughter a love for music and helped her acquire the necessary skill sets to tackle difficult piano pieces. Ms. Sonya has a unique talent for teaching children and is warm, kind, and encouraging. She is also patient and able to explain concepts in a way that a child can understand. Despite the pandemic, my daughter has made remarkable progress with remote lessons. Ms. Sonya is also very accommodating- when my daughter's previous teacher refused to teach her a challenging Christmas song, Ms. Sonya willingly took her on and helped her master the piece within two months!
