For 8.5 years, I longed for a contemporary railing to modernize our house. With no general contractor for our stair renovation, I sought out subcontractors myself and discovered Smith Metalworks. Throughout the project, Chris and Marni communicated clearly, keeping me informed of what was possible and when additional subcontractors were necessary, such as when transforming the stairs from open to closed stringer. Working with subcontractors who primarily serve general contractors can be daunting or confusing, but this was not the case with Marni and Chris who guided me through the process, asked relevant questions about my design inspirations, and produced and installed a stunning railing. I adore it and am thrilled with my new staircase!
