I am delighted to announce that my teaching business has been recognized as the 'CrackerJack Best of 2016 Award' recipient, and have recently been honored with the '⭐️TOP PRO⭐️' title from the same award-giving body. I express my deep gratitude towards my clients for their generous feedback and support.
For eighteen years, I have been teaching students of all ages - ranging from three to seventy-three years, and have been playing the drumset for over three decades. Each lesson plan is custom-tailored to the student's interests and goals, and I offer three different session lengths. I can also drive to your location if you already have a drumset at home. Please note, however, that Covid-19 vaccine requirements may apply. In addition to one-on-one lessons, I also offer lessons at various music stores around the area.
I am proud to welcome students who are on the autistic spectrum, and/or may have cognitive, physical, or learning challenges. Playing the drumset can positively impact individuals experiencing these issues.
Watching my students' progression and happiness brings me immense joy. I am particularly proud to share that two of my advanced students have been accepted into the distinguished 'Berklee School of Music' College Program.

I strongly endorse Sheik-Beatz as a drum instructor. He suggested a brief 30-minute class to evaluate my 4-year-old's ability, willingness, and attention span to learn. For nearly a year, Josh has been educating my five-year-old son, Jaxson, who has special needs and was diagnosed with Kabuki syndrome at 2.5 years old. Despite Jaxson's occasional distraction during lessons, Josh has shown great patience and consistently introduced new concepts to him. Music has always been an interest of Jaxson's, and Josh has successfully worked with his inherent talent. With COVID, I took a risk and tried out the online music lesson platform even though I had some doubts. However, I am extremely grateful that I did.
Joshua is an outstanding teacher who has a knack for identifying my child's strengths, needs, and interests. He excels at engaging her and encouraging her to take ownership of her learning, resulting in her becoming passionate about percussion. Joshua adapts to my child's ever-changing tweenie moods and learning style, creating an environment that has boosted her self-confidence and overall learning abilities.
As society begins to reopen, I have decided to continue with Joshua's remote teaching. The convenience of having him "come into our home" rather than wasting precious time commuting to lessons has proven invaluable. Joshua is an exceptional teacher who both my 9 year old daughter and I have the pleasure of being instructed by. His level of patience is remarkable and he never appears to become irritated even when we repeat the same mistakes repeatedly. Instead, he provides clear and concise explanations for the necessary corrections while providing encouragement to try again. This is an approach to teaching that I deeply appreciate, especially as an adult learner who tends to be quite hard on myself, but he ensures that I do not get stuck in that mindset.
Additionally, I've had the pleasure of meeting other local drummers who have confirmed his outstanding musicianship. Joshua possesses an extensive knowledge and interest in various genres of music, which he effortlessly performs to the highest caliber, whilst also being able to explain it.
