Sharon Kwok

Greetings! My name is Sharon, a seasoned music instructor, pianist, and accompanist in the Bay Area. I earned my bachelor's degree in music and Spanish at UC Davis and followed it with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Santa Clara University.

My fruitful teaching career spans more than ten years, with students of all skill levels and ages coming under my tutelage. I have honed my skills in preparing my pupils for musical examinations and recitals, such as the Certificate of Merit, resulting in this year's cohorts having state honors bestowed on them.

I am a firm believer in establishing a sturdy musical foundation from the start. This process is long, but it yields fruits when students can later apply their acquired knowledge and skills to any musical composition they wish to learn. Additionally, my students choose supplementary materials outside of their lesson books, such as classical or jazz, contemporary, Broadway scores, or TV and film soundtracks. By enjoying their musical lessons and choices, I find that the students become more invested in their music and consequentially more dedicated to their practice.
