As I entered my initial class at the United Association Instructor training program held at Washtenaw Community College, I was greeted with a room full of 25 plumbers, pipefitters and HVAC mechanics, all looking quite anxious. Karen, our instructor, skillfully prompted us to engage with each other and participate in an activity known as "Karen Fun" immediately. With her expertise and professionalism, Karen was able to ease the nervousness of the Union tradesmen, making them more compliant and receptive to learning.
The 20-hour instructional program was not only informative but also enjoyable and thorough. I am thrilled to begin using the communication skills I've acquired in my next class, and I may even consider joining Toastmasters!
