However, my experience and expertise are reasons why you should choose me as your teacher. With over 20 years of teaching guitar in East Haven, CT, I still love it and wouldn't change a thing. Many music teachers neglect the importance of creativity and fail to teach the underlying principles of music, such as why a chord is a chord and how to add notes to it. I believe in helping my students understand how scales and progressions play a crucial role in songwriting and jamming. Sandi is an exceptional guitar teacher with a comprehensive knowledge of music theory, which she simplifies into easy-to-grasp building blocks. By providing explanations for the "why" elements behind the theory, she enables her students to understand the entire system quickly. Once you master all the constituent parts, music becomes an exciting and endless game. Sandi goes beyond providing demonstrations and techniques by inspiring genuine creativity. I am amazed that in just a month and a half of lessons, I moved past the stage of experiencing aching wrists and producing awful sounds, and am already creating music. Considering the quality of instruction I am getting, I find it almost unbelievable that Sandi only charges $40/hour. It's evident that she teaches not for the money, but for the joy of it. I feel grateful for investing in my learning, and seeing Sandi's bright smile every week only intensifies that gratitude!

Prior to my departure to California, I concluded my final lesson with Sandi. It's hard to believe that under six months ago, I had zero knowledge of the guitar and little background with music theory. Now, I possess the ability to discern the key and improvise with nearly any song, generate my own chord progressions, melodies, perform several of my much-loved songs, and readily acquire knowledge to learn new ones. All attainments made possible through Sandi's extraordinary talent in instructing guitar and music theory. Not only does she teach technical proficiency, Sandi also nurtures budding musicians. It's rare to find such dexterity in both performing and coaching. My guitar lessons with Sandi filled a void in my creativity and expression, and proved to be one of my best decisions. I recommend Sandi for guitar tutorials regardless of someone's skill level.
