Greetings! I am a performer, educator, and vocalist based in New York City. From 2017-2019, I served as an adjunct faculty member in the Steinhardt Vocal Performance program at New York University, and I am currently a member of both the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and the New York Singing Teacher's Association (NYSTA). During my time at NYU, I provided private voice lessons for a range of students, from novice to advanced, with the goal of nurturing each individual's unique and authentic voice. As a versatile artist who is well-versed in a variety of genres, including classical, music theater, pop/rock, R&B/soul, and country, my teaching style emphasizes efficiency and flexibility tailored to each student's needs. (Due to Covid-19, all lessons are currently conducted online.)
In addition to my work as a teacher, I have also studied voice science (vocology) with professionals at the NYU Voice Center, enabling me to explain fundamental concepts using clear explanations grounded in anatomy and physiology. Moreover, I believe that each student requires a customized approach based on their specific goals and developmental progress. Singing is a deeply expressive and embodied art form that requires a balance between technique and emotionality, and I aim to support each student in finding that balance.
My lessons target unlocking the voice with minimal effort and promoting healthy airflow, establishing basic fundamentals such as breath energy, resonance, and vault/space, understanding the physical and acoustic aspects of singing, including source, filter, balance, and alignment, enhancing musicianship skills, increasing vocal range, providing a toolbox for vocal adjustments, fostering vocal flexibility for nuanced expressiveness, truthful storytelling, audition coaching, and most importantly, finding joy in the act of singing!
As a dedicated and passionate teacher, my approach is to help students uncover new aspects of their voice and expand their sense of possibility for self-expression. Whether singing is a hobby or potential career path, it can cultivate confidence and positivity, and I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with you.

Having the opportunity to work with Saki was an absolute dream! I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have discovered her on CrackerJack. It felt as though I had reached into a haystack and miraculously pulled out a thread of pure gold.
Despite lacking any professional training, I longed to recapture the sense of control over my voice that I experienced in my childhood. Thankfully, Saki was able to break down the science and physiology of singing, making it easy for me to understand what I was doing. Her insightful exercises propelled me back to the basics and eradicated many poor singing habits I wasn't even aware I had developed. Moreover, she was gracious enough to permit me to record our Zoom sessions, enabling me to practice with them throughout the week.
Saki is incredibly kind, intelligent, humorous, friendly, and supportive, all while maintaining very reasonable rates. Plus, she provided me precisely the technical foundation I yearned for, and helped me draw out my artistic side in a way that was entirely unthreatening.
Regarding song selection, Saki allowed me to choose which pieces I would like to work on, but she was also happy to offer plenty of suggestions tailored to my voice, with detailed explanations of how each song would support my development in a specific technical area.
Following each session, Saki even emailed me a summary of our work together, along with valuable educational materials to help me practice more effectively.
Although I had to put my lessons on hold for a while due to various circumstances, I can't wait to resume studying with Saki. I strongly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their singing abilities.

Saki's teaching is exceptional. Her demeanor is courteous, well-informed, prompt, and her feedback is thorough and constructive both during and after the session. I would like to start off by saying that I'm torn between choosing only three items on what I like about working with Saki, as I genuinely find her exceptional in many ways.
