Russ Kaplan Music

During quarantine, my son started taking lessons with Russell. He has acquired a great deal of knowledge and eagerly anticipates his weekly sessions with him. My son practices incessantly and relishes the piano improvisations Russell conducts at the outset of their sessions. It is unequivocally the high point of his week.

Russ's love for music is evident in his teaching as well. He values the positive aspects of a performance, rather than focusing on its shortcomings, which is highly inspiring. Additionally, he possesses a vast knowledge of music levels to advance to, which is accompanied by remarkable patience. As someone who used to play the piano in school but is now retired, I have found Russ's introduction to the world of swing and jazz incredibly enriching, without forsaking classical music. It has been an incredibly gratifying experience.

For more than three years, my daughter has been receiving instruction from Russ, and she has developed a strong affection for him. Despite her young age of eight, she has made significant strides in piano playing thanks to his guidance. Russ has a knack for making the learning process enjoyable and uncomplicated, so my daughter eagerly anticipates every lesson. We wholeheartedly endorse him without reservation.

For a year and a half, my children, who are 6 and 8, have been learning how to play the piano under the tutelage of Russ. For about 3 years, Zephyros has been taking piano lessons from Russ. With Russ's help, Zephyros has progressed from simply tapping keys to playing enchanting music that we thoroughly enjoy. As Zephyros nourished his love for music, Russ provided guidance by introducing him to new music styles and genres, while also valuing the compositions that Zephyros discovers and performs for him. Despite virtual learning, Russ's teaching is as polished as ever, as though he is physically present. Russ has been the perfect mentor. Our son is flourishing as a bona fide musician, and we are appreciative to have discovered Russ.
